Eni and Ansaldo Energia, active in the energy transition and long-standing partners, have announced the signing of an agreement for the development of projects based on innovative technological solutions for the storage of electricity as alternatives to electrochemical batteries. The agreement provides that these technologies, already under study and already subjected to Eni’s technology validation process, are implemented in synergy in some industrial sites of Eni and its subsidiaries in Italy, exploiting the potential of existing production systems. and electricity consumption. The accumulations of electrical energy are essential to overcome the structural limit of programmability and intermittence of renewable sources and therefore favor their development.
The agreement, the note specifies, may be the subject of subsequent binding agreements that the parties will define in compliance with the applicable legislation, including that on transactions between related parties.
