BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) (ITALPRESS) – Reconciling economic and environmental sustainability. This is the goal of the Italian government on the new Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union. Progress was made at the EU Council of Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers held in Brussels, but still a full agreement between Member States, the European Parliament and the Commission has not been reached. It was therefore decided to postpone the talks to the next meeting scheduled for June. Ministers endorsed Council conclusions on EU priorities for the United Nations Food Systems Summit, to be held in New York in September. They agreed on the importance of the United Nations Food Systems Summit as a “landmark event and a real opportunity to reshape food systems globally”. A pre-summit will take place on 26-28 July in Rome. (ITALPRESS). sat / red 28-May-21 13:08
