“Every fifth e-prescription has problems”

The German Pharmacists Association has already given Gematik an ultimatum: the problems should be solved by Easter. Otherwise, the pharmacists want to campaign for a replacement procedure. Do you think this will work?
In any case, things cannot continue as before. We have therefore taken the initiative with our Patient Care Action Alliance here in the Rhineland, an alliance of the North Rhine Pharmacists Association, the North Rhine General Practitioners Association, the Association of Medical Professionals and the Free Association of German Dentists: From now on, family doctors will only issue paper prescriptions every morning until ten o’clock . Last week, the alliance had already warned that the security of supply for patients was at risk in view of the ongoing failures of the telematics infrastructure when implementing the e-prescription. Doctors and pharmacists do not rule out further escalation steps up to the complete switch to paper prescriptions in order to restore security of supply for patients if the Federal Ministry of Health‘s unstable and unfinished e-prescription project does not run in a stable and secure manner in a timely manner.
