MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Fondazione Cariplo supports and adheres to Think20 (T20) and Foundations20 (F20), two of the international networks that will meet in the coming months alongside the G20, a global forum for economic and financial cooperation. The common goal of T20 and F20 is to deliver to the leaders of the G20 countries – which together make up almost 80% of GDP and 60% of the world population – suggestions, ideas and even policy recommendations to address some of the great common challenges of today: pandemic and global health, fighting poverty and inequalities, climate change, digitalisation and support for innovation. Think20 is the network of think tanks representative of the G20 member countries: the 2021 edition of the T20 – is coordinated by ISPI and offers a rich program of events and opportunities for discussion with leading figures and experts, both Italian and international, including 3 High Level Forums dedicated to the themes of social inclusion, climate change and digital transformation and a series of Spring Roundtables that will host debates on central issues, from the future of education after covid to the opportunities offered by digitization for the construction of a more sustainable and inclusive. At the final T20 Summit, which will take place from 3 to 6 October, a final communiquê containing policy ideas and recommendations will be officially delivered to the G20 Summit. Foundations20, a network of over 60 foundations and philanthropic organizations from all over the world, including the Cariplo Foundation, was born in 2017 to contribute to the reflection on sustainability issues during the G20 process. F20 promotes joint and transnational action towards sustainable development – providing concrete examples for the solution of the most urgent challenges, including climate change – and sets itself the ambitious goal of building bridges between civil society, the economic and financial sectors. , the think tanks and policy makers of the G20 countries. Milan will host the main event for 2021, the international event “Green Recovery, Sustainable Finance, Just Transition: Putting Words into Deeds” scheduled for 29 and 30 September. With the participation and support of the activities of Think20 and Foundations20, Fondazione Cariplo wanted to contribute to the debate on important issues on the agenda of the Italian Presidency for the G20. A program articulated around the trinomial People, Planet, Prosperity, which places care for the planet and people at the center, and inclusive and sustainable economic development. Topics more than ever convergent with the philanthropic activities and strategic priorities of the Cariplo Foundation, which for over thirty years has been engaged in combating inequalities and in creating value and opportunities for people and communities in the area, through support for projects in the field of art and culture, the environment, the social and scientific research. According to Giovanni Fosti, President of Fondazione Cariplo “the period we are experiencing makes it extremely clear how the words People, Planet, Prosperity are strictly interconnected: it is possible to build the future only around these pillars and it must be done together, because the challenges we face are complex and global. By collaborating with ISPI and with the T20 and F20 networks, Fondazione Cariplo intends to be an active part of a process that brings together the best skills in the world to dialogue and find points of convergence to deliver to the leaders of the G20, in the idea that by developing knowledge together we can look to the future without leaving anyone behind “.
