Ganfeng Lithium (002460) once again increased the capacity of lithium concentrate.

On the evening of April 5, the company issued an announcement that, after reaching an agreement with its partner Process Minerals International Pty Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “PMI”), it intends to sell Mt Marion lithium, a subsidiary of Australian Reed Industrial Minerals Pty Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “RIM”), a joint venture company. The lithium concentrate processing capacity of the pyroxene project has been upgraded. It is expected that the Mt Marion lithium concentrate capacity will increase from the original 450,000 tons/year to 600,000 tons/year by April 2022; at the same time, RIM is planning the second phase of Capacity expansion, it is expected that the lithium concentrate capacity will expand to 900,000 tons/year by the end of 2022. According to this calculation, after the completion of the aforementioned capacity expansion, the capacity of Mt Marion lithium concentrate will be doubled.

As the main lithium resource project of Ganfeng Lithium, RIM’s Mt Marion is also one of the world‘s largest spodumene producers.
