The International Monetary Fund (IMF) sees the Italian economy grow vigorously this year and next after the collapse of 8.9% of GDP in 2020. The new IMF estimates indicate a +4.9 for Italy % of GDP 2021 compared to + 4.2% indicated in April. In 2022, the new estimate is + 4.2%, 0.6 percentage points higher than the April forecasts.
Italy is therefore seen to do better than Germany, whose GDP is estimated at + 3.6% this year and + 4.1% in 2022.
