by admin

The challenge of innovation and digital transformation has its feet in Sardinia and windows across Italy. And it also looks beyond the border. Looking far ahead, with a solid base on the outskirts of Cagliari, is Open Campus, a company founded in 2013 as an offshoot of Tiscali and which later became an independent innovation laboratory. «We are born as a spin off of Tiscali – said Alice Soru, 41, CEO of Open Campus -. At the time I was an employee and the coworking phenomenon had already begun. We started with a space for small agencies and freelancers ». A laboratory open to contamination and exchange of ideas but also a place to study “work and its changes”. Then the growth and foundation of the company today made up of seven people.

«We have always been a privileged observatory on the world of work and its changes – adds Alice -. Over the years we have seen freelancers, startups and small and large digital companies working in our spaces, we have learned to know their needs and have seen their habits change. Today our community is being populated by remote workers, coming from various parts of Italy and Europe, who have chosen to return or move to Sardinia ». In the large spaces of Sa Illetta where Open Campus has its base, the main partner is Tiscali but the company now uses the spaces by virtue of a regular rental contract, among green meadows, olive trees and Mediterranean scrub and a view overlooking the sea and Cagliari. “We work with companies such as Sanofi Genzyme, Spindox, Tiscali, Engineering, Fondazione di Sardegna, Sardinian Agency for active employment policies, Crs4 and Medsea Mediterranean Sea and Coast Foundation – continues Alice -, helping them to find new digital development strategies and putting them in contact with young talents and startups through hackathons, startup competitions and tailor-made events ». And then there is training for companies and professionals, masterclasses and workshops all remotely. From 2020 Open Campus is also a training agency accredited by the Sardinia Region and has started a process of digitization of the training offer. The plans include that for Tiscali employees and school managers and teachers. As for the future, there is the e-learning platform. At the beginning of the year, Open Campus launched courses for individuals divided into two formats: Bootcamp (5 appointments) and Digital Fridays. Scheduled appointments dedicated to LinkedIn and the design of virtual and hybrid events.
