Italcementi reactivates the cooking line in Sarche di Madruzzo: 30 new hires arrive

by admin

Five million investment and 30 hires. Italcementi (HeidelbergCement group) thus relaunches the Sarche di Madruzzo site to meet the demand for materials coming from the North East. In six months, the cooking line of the Trentino plant will be operational again, which since 2015 has remained active only as a grinding center . From next January, however, in Sarche di Madruzzo the group will reactivate the full-cycle production of cement. The choice will bring an investment of 5 million euros on the site which will allow to increase the current production capacity, also to respond to the increase in demand coming from the North East.

The reactivation of the firing line required a series of works that will last until the end of the year, also because the cement plant will have to be equipped with the technologies necessary to guarantee high-level environmental performance. The investment in the Trentino site will take place in compliance with the standards required by Italcementi’s sustainable development policy and paying attention to environmental and landscape aspects.

In the meantime, the group has already started a hiring campaign to complete the workforce to the level necessary for a full-cycle plant. The selections will be made in the autumn and will involve 30 people. “On the part of Italcementi and the HeidelbergCement group this is a choice of great confidence in the potential of the Italian market”, explains Agostino Rizzo, Italcementi technical director. The plant will have a production potential of about 250,000 tons of cement per year, “making a quality product available to our customers in the North-East area, made by local workers with local raw materials”.
