Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee and governor of the province, attended the meeting and emphasized that it is necessary to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on energy security, strengthen overall coordination, make concerted efforts from multiple parties, and be fully prepared to ensure a safe and stable supply of electricity during peak summer.

Mao Weiming welcomed the arrival of the guests and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Hunan.He said that in recent years, Hunan has fully implemented the strategic positioning and mission of “three highs and four new”, efficiently coordinated epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, and did a good job of “three major supports and eight priorities”. With the rapid economic and social development of the province and the rapid growth of electricity load, the problem of energy shortage in Hunan has become increasingly prominent. In recent years, the Central China branch of State Grid and the power companies of sister provinces have continued to increase their support for Hunan’s cross-regional and cross-provincial power, which effectively ensures the stable and orderly supply of Hunan’s power.The current is a critical period for the province to sprint “double over half”, and it is possible that there will continue to be sunny and hot weather this summer.the peak power is expected to exceed 39 million kilowatts,The electricity supply and demand are generally in a “tight balance” state.At present, Hunan has fully completed the planned maintenance of hydropower units, and is stepping up efforts to carry out the maintenance of thermal coal reserves and thermal power units, so as to be fully prepared for the peak summer.
