China to Strengthen Industry Management and Promote High-Quality Development of Automobile Industry

At a recent press conference, Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, outlined plans to further strengthen macro guidance and industry management in order to promote the high-quality development of the automobile industry in China.

According to Guobin, the ministry will implement preferential policies such as car purchase tax exemptions and carry out comprehensive electrification pilots for public sector vehicles and new energy vehicles going to the countryside. This initiative aims to actively expand the consumption of new energy vehicles and maintain the stable operation of the industry.

Furthermore, the ministry plans to support enterprises in joint innovation and increase research on automotive chips, all-solid-state batteries, high-level autonomous driving, and other technologies to enhance product market competitiveness.

In addition, pilot projects for intelligent connected vehicle access and “vehicle-road-cloud integration” applications will be organized and carried out. This will involve the acceleration of infrastructure construction such as roadside sensing and network-connected cloud control, as well as the improvement of vehicle-side, road-side, and network-side standard systems to promote the commercial application of intelligent connected cars.

In order to prevent and resolve the risk of overcapacity and maintain fair competition in the market, the ministry will further strengthen the overall layout of industrial development.

Guobin also emphasized the importance of international development, collaborative innovation, and global development in the automobile industry. The ministry aims to advocate for the elimination of various forms of trade protection policies and create a favorable international and domestic environment for industrial development.
