Important Pilot Program for Low-Income Families
Starting tomorrow at 9:00 am, a pilot program will be launched to support low-income families in selected neighborhoods. The program will provide eligible applicants with a monthly cash payment for 18 months. The deadline for submitting applications is February 2, and selected families will receive their first payment no later than March 2024.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must live in participating zip codes and have a household income of less than 200% of the federal poverty level. This means that families with an annual income of less than $60,000 may qualify for the program. A total of 1,900 families will benefit from this pilot program, which is funded by the federal government with $20.5 million.
Residents of the Houston area who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for the program, as it will provide much-needed financial support for expenses such as bills, meals, and rent.
The details of the pilot program, including the application process, can be found on the designated webpage, which is available in both English and Spanish.
In addition, a press conference will be held to provide further details about the program. This initiative aims to provide crucial assistance to low-income families and improve their livelihood. Stay tuned for more information on this important pilot program.
