Green light from the EU to the half-yearly installments of the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan recognized to Italy. The European Commissioner for the Economy Paolo Gentiloni – it is written on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance – after the signature by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Daniele Franco, has signed the Operational Arrangements (OA) relating to the National Plan of Recovery and Resilience of Italy. The go-ahead given today by the EU sets the shared rules on the basis of which the checks for the definitive release of the funds will then be made, semester by semester. The first funds, according to what has been learned, will arrive in a few months, in 2022, after verifying that the indicated objectives have been achieved. For the first installment, these are the 51 targets referred to by the Prime Minister.

“Italy respects the commitment to achieve all the first 51 objectives by the end of this year to submit the request for payment of the first repayment installment, equal to 24.1 billion euros”, wrote the premier in the note opening of the control room on the Pnrr. “This is the result of collective work, which has seen the Government and the operational structures engaged at all levels. Parliament has made an essential contribution to the achievement of these objectives and has shown considerable sensitivity in approving in a timely manner reforms and essential rules for the success of the Plan ”, continues the premise of the Prime Minister.

«The implementation of the NRP is a decisive challenge for the country, on which our credibility towards citizens and our partners depends. I hope that all those involved can contribute to its realization quickly, efficiently, honestly “, writes Mario Draghi, who adds:” This is only the beginning of a long process. There is a need for a daily commitment until 2026. Having achieved the 51 objectives set out in the Plan is important, but it is not the time to settle down for the objective achieved “.

The work of the government will continue in agreement with the trade unions: the secretaries of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini, of the CISL, Luigi Sbarra and Uil, Pierpaolo Bombardieri today signed a protocol with the Prime Minister Mario Draghi for the implementation of the PNRR. It provides for the activation of “finalized and continuous national sectoral tables in which the social, economic and employment effects of investments are taken into account”.
