ROMA – A quarter of Italian workers have such low wages that they risk ending up in poverty, under 12,000 euros per year. And when it ends, half of them remain poor: a percentage that has risen to 60% with the Covid crisis. Italy is the fourth country for poor work in Europe – 11.8% of the total against an EU average of 9.2% – after Romania, Spain and Luxembourg: widespread and persistent.
