Road accidents, Continental and Equinix together to reduce the number thanks to artificial intelligence

by admin

Equinix and Continental have signed a partnership to reduce road accidents through artificial intelligence and, in general, the technologies behind autonomous vehicles. To achieve this, it is essential to ensure low-latency access to cloud computing networks, so that data can be processed efficiently and safer driving. The collaboration aims to support Continental’s global infrastructure network, which is very active in the area of autonomous driving platforms. Supported by this network, Continental’s Advanced Driver Assistance System test vehicles travel more than 15,000 km per day generating and recording more than 100 terabytes of data. These Adas systems help keep the vehicle in the lane, monitor blind spots, brake automatically and even call for help during an emergency. Thanks to Equinix facilities around the world this data is uploaded, processed and made available quickly in the cloud and can be consulted and used by Continental engineers for system testing and validation purposes. The partnership with Equinix has enabled Continental to accelerate the development of AI and bring the company closer to achieving its “Zero casualties, zero injuries and zero accidents” vision.
