Sala: “Enough with the moral superiority of the left. The M5s is ok but to win you need the center”
“As a man of the left, I do not believe that my political party can boast moral superiority. And in any case, voters have not recognized this presumed primacy for some time; so instead let’s try to demonstrate that we can be more capable than the right in managing the challenges of a changing world that cannot be faced with conservatism”. Thus, in an interview with Repubblica, the mayor of Milan Beppe Sala.

“I wouldn’t give up on finding an agreement with the 5 Star Movement – states Sala – After the European elections, the PD and 5 Star should sit together and build a programmatic agreement, without thinking about yet another upcoming election, lining up more of the things that unite them than those that divide them”. But then he adds : “The agreement can be useful, but it is not enough. The centre-right wins because it has a center called Forza Italia and the centre-left the centre in fact it doesn’t have it or it has it in an anomalous way because it is occupied by Renzi and Calenda”.
In the meantime, he also speaks Chiara Appendino in an interview with La Stampa to which he says that the broad field “is not dead. But to build a fair field, rather than a broad one, we need credible projects and reliable candidates. We will continue to try, without ever denying our identity of which the legality and dignity of politics are indispensable pillars”. There is no lack of a jab, or rather a distinction, from the Democratic Party: “The investigations demonstrate a distorted relationship between politics and business. We have made the fight against privilege and clientele our flag.”
