The Skoda Karoq is updated with a restyling that can be defined as technological. The new look is not only intended to update the line but, above all, to increase efficiency. The renewal also introduces latest generation technologies, which concern digitization and driving assistance which, as standard or on request, are available for all versions.
Skoda Karoq, so the same but so different
The stylistic renewal of Skoda’s 4.38-meter-long compact SUV is particularly noticeable at the front. The novelties concern the design of the grille which is inspired by that of all the most recent Skoda, the lights which depending on the version are Led or Matrix Lex and the bumper shield. The latter integrates solutions intended to improve aerodynamics such as intakes and vents that direct the air flows in an optimal way around the car which together with the aerodynamic rims, the spoiler popped at the end of the roof and the complete underbody fairing improve the profiling. 9% compared to that of the previous Karoq.
The presentation of the passenger compartment is substantially unchanged, but is updated by new details scattered throughout the furnishings and, above all, by the extension of digitization. In fact, all Koroqs now offer a fully legible, extensively configurable 9.2 “or 10.2” display as standard instead of the analogue instrumentation and, depending on the set-up, a new 8 “or 9.2” touch display. for infotainment. The latter is based on the Mib 3.0 operating system already adopted by other Skodas, it is always connected, can be used intuitively thanks to the clear graphical interface and offers wireless interaction for devices, numerous online services and the virtual assistant. In essence, the new operating system facilitates human-SUV interaction.
The functionality offered from the inside of the Karoq can be increased by the sliding and removable VarioFlex rear seat, standard on some versions, which allows to modulate the basic capacity of the boot ranging from 521 to 1,631 liters, while those wishing to accentuate their green personality can choose the Eco upholstery free from animal origin coverings.
Skoda Karoq, technological upgrading but without hybrid engines
To reduce fuel consumption for the entire Karoq family, Skoda has combined improved aerodynamics with an engine offering based only on the latest generation of the Volkswagen Group’s Evo series. These units exploit specific technologies depending on the power supply, the displacement and the power to reduce consumption and emissions. The Karoq family now joins the 1-liter 3-cylinder petrol engines with 110 horsepower and 1.5-liter with 150 horsepower, with automatic deactivation of two of its four cylinders in some situations, a 2-liter 190 horsepower. The turbodiesel chapter uses the technology that combines two catalysts with the double AdBlue injection and offers only 2-liter engines with 115 and 150 horsepower. Under the bodywork, the Karoq hides more driving assistance and safety systems as standard than in the past and by opting for the Travel Assist package, which includes adaptive cruise with stop & go and the lane centering system, it offers semi- autonomous level 2.
