In order to operate ships with methanol or ammonia, bunkering options are necessary – major investments and projects from which Hamburg could also benefit in the future. “Other locations like Antwerp or Singapore are clearer, more decisive and faster,” says Geisler. In Hamburg and Germany, however, a large number of authorities and countries prevented progress. It’s a bit “provincial”. It sounds as if a new German headquarters of a hopeful could not save Hamburg alone. But the city and MSC have enough to do with parental complaints.
