Next Friday 10 May the Dante Alighieri society of Zambia and the Italian embassy in Lusaka will present a performance of the third canto of Dante’s Inferno at the Zambia-Italia cultural center. We learn this from a post by the Italian ambassador in Lusaka, Enrico de Agostini.
The first rehearsal of the show took place in recent days, which is organized to “celebrate Dante and the Italian language” and “to experience a fascinating journey through medieval Italy while the Zambian Circus takes you through the door of Hell”. Circo Zambia is the company chosen to stage Dante’s third canto, an opportunity “to celebrate Italian and European culture” reports Ambassador De Agostini.
