L’bird flu in the United States it continues to grow in several states. The increase in infected cattle and the detection of traces in milk, according to the Centers for Disease Control, there are three more cats that have tested positive for the H5N1 virus. These cases appear to be linked to the infection contracted from dairy cows.

Onja Olsen, associate director of the CDC Division for preparedness and response to influenza, who explained to Bno News where the new cases are identified in the USA and the animals with the symptoms they experience are found: «To date, the influenza virus avian flu has been confirmed on 33 farms in eight states. There are also six detections of positive cats on various dairy farms and also sick wild birds on some farms. In the reports we have had the cats showed neurological symptoms, rapid decline and died.”
The milk
The presence of some fragments of the H5N1 virus have also been found in commercial milk. Despite these initial results, tests are continuing and at the moment experts say that thanks to the pasteurization process it is still safe to drink.
This epidemic in the United States is not only affecting mammals but there is also a variant capable of spreading from man to man: the case is of an agricultural worker who tested positive in Texas.
