Superdry, Fastweb and the London Stock Exchange: these are the three European companies that have reduced their impact on climate change the most. This is what emerges from the ranking prepared by Statista and published by the Financial Times, according to the criterion of the greatest percentage reduction, year on year, of “core” carbon dioxide emissions between 2014 and 2019, aligned with the growth in revenues.

Based on the results obtained by companies in reducing greenhouse emissions and in particular direct emissions (Scope 1), emissions related to purchased electricity (Scope 2) and all other indirect emissions (Scope 3) calculated in CO2 Equivalent, the Financial Times Europe’s Climate Leaders 2021 ranking identifies the 300 best companies at European level that have reduced their impact on the environment the most.

Fastweb, with a 95% reduction in “core” emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2), is at the top in second place in the general ranking, behind Superdry and ahead of the London Stock Exchange, but at number one among Italian companies and those of telecommunications.

«It is an important recognition – says the company in a note – because it rewards our commitment. Since 2015 we have been purchasing 100% of energy from renewable sources ».

“Digitization and sustainability are the two essential levers for the future of this country and in our vision they are increasingly integrated: there is no digitization without sustainability and there is no sustainability without digitization” underlined Alberto Calcagno, CEO of Fastweb.
