The Parma Motorhome Show returns at the end of the summer

If Covid-19 has created economic disasters in many sectors, it has instead made the fortune of others. One of these is the motorhome market, which in the last two years has seen a more than significant growth: registrations, according to data from the APC – Association of Caravan and Camper Manufacturers, increased by 7.68% in 2020 and 11, 92% of 2021. Therefore, not a passing fashion, but a consolidated trend and it is in this scenario that the Salone del Camper returns to Parma from 10 to 18 September 2022. The organizational machine has started and the main brands in the sector have already been accredited. After all, this is one of the main international events in the sector that you can count on

100,000 square meters of exhibition space, which result from the sum of five pavilions that house four product areas.

The first is dedicated to Caravan and Camper, where the most important European companies in the sector are present; the second to vehicle accessories and complements to make the holiday even more comfortable; the third area is for shopping, with products for outdoor life and small spaces; the fourth, finally, is aimed at routes and destinations, a section of tourism promotion to get to know the ideal places and destinations for tourism in freedom. “Tourism has undergone profound changes in recent years – explains Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma – and the camper is the protagonist. Furthermore, it becomes an important driving force for the economy of the territories, even those far from the main tourist destinations. In this scenario, attention is growing for more compact models. In fact, a Van generation is developing which chooses this type of vehicle as its first or second car because it is agile and compatible with multiple uses.

Returning to the numbers, as far as production is concerned, Italy confirms itself as the third European producer of motorhomes, after Germany and France, with a production increase, in 2021, of 33.88% compared to 2020 and with an export that exceeds 80%. But the camper also needs suitable parking places and this was the central topic of the first LaB-Webinar approaching the Motorhome Show entitled “Why and how to create a camper parking area, how to communicate it and make it more and more digital” . It is a central theme, because there are 20 million traveling tourists in Europe, with a circulating park of over

6 million vehicles between campers and caravans, with an average use of 79 days a year. Welcoming campers therefore also means seasonally adjusting tourism, anticipating and extending the season.
