Huineng Technology has officially put into production the worldā€˜s first solid-state battery production line, a major milestone in the development of electric vehicle batteries. The solid-state battery, known as a large lithium ceramic battery (LLCB), boasts impressive performance, with the ability to charge 80% of the battery in just 12 minutes and a range of over 1,000km for electric vehicles.

The company has sent samples of the solid-state batteries to major new energy vehicle companies for testing and module development, signaling the beginning of a new era in battery technology. Huineng Technology, established in 2006, is focused on the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of solid-state lithium batteries.

In January of this year, the company announced the establishment of the worldā€˜s first gigabit solid-state lithium ceramic battery factory, with plans to supply electric vehicle manufacturers this year. The initial production capacity of the factory is 0.5GWh per year, with the potential to expand to 2GWh, providing batteries for up to 26,000 electric vehicles based on demand.

The solid-state battery produced by the factory has a charge-discharge cycle life of over 1,000 times and is capable of maintaining excellent battery life even in extremely cold weather of -30Ā°C. The battery is designed to provide greater design flexibility for electric vehicles, with the volumetric energy density of the LLCB battery pack almost doubling that of mainstream 2170 battery electric vehicles.

In addition to its impressive performance, the LLCB production process will reduce waste of matrix materials and shrink the demand for raw materials, improving the sustainability and affordability of solid-state batteries.
