The industry ranking is dominated by the large public energy-oil groups in terms of turnover. In first place Enel (with a turnover of € 62.6bn), second Eni (€ 44bn) and third GSE (€ 26.3bn). This is what emerges from the annual ranking of the Mediobanca Research Area which presented the 56th edition of the study on the main Italian companies. The study analyzes the financial statements of 3,437 companies, divided according to the sector in which they operate. Subsequent positions open up to other sectors, such as manufacturing which prevails with FCA Italy in fourth position and services led by Telecom. Among the new entrants to the Top20: Italpreziosi (€ 6.9 billion), Eurospin Italia (€ 6.3 billion), Fincantieri (€ 5.8 billion) and Lidl Italia (€ 5.5 billion). The company with the largest number of employees remains Poste Italiane, with over 124,000 units, despite the 3.5% decline. Poste precedes Ferrovie dello Stato (81,409 units); followed by Enel (66,717) and Edizione (57,606) with more than 50,000 employees.
