Toyota’s range over the next 30 years will feature a myriad of options beyond just electric vehicles. This was stated by the executives of the Japanese company during the annual meeting of shareholders. “It’s too early to focus on just one option, electric,” said director Shigeki Terashi, answering an investor’s question as to why the world‘s largest carmaker is following a different electrification path than competitors like Honda , which aims to sell only electric vehicles by 2040. Terashi explained that in the years leading up to 2050 several options – including hybrids and fuel cell vehicles – will have to compete against each other so that the company remain the best options.
