Wall Street is moving just above par, pending new indications on the American job market, due out tomorrow. In the first few minutes of trading, the Dow Jones index rose by 0.5%, the S & P500 gained 0.3% and the weaker Nasdaq was + 0.2%.
Meanwhile, new requests for unemployment benefits have arrived which in the week to 30 July fell to 385,000 from 399,000 the previous week. The figure is slightly higher than the 384,000 units expected by the consensus of the analysts. On the other hand, yesterday the ADP survey recorded a much lower than expected job creation in the private sector.
