It will not be a cultural center or even an academic place, but it will simply be the showcase of the new mountain. It is the Officina del Buon Cammino, it will investigate issues concerning the High Lands, and those who live there. In short, an artisan place where there will also be time to enjoy a glass of wine and a slice of salami.
The Workshop is promoted by the Buon Cammino Network, which maintains the spirit of the Compagnia del Buon Cammino unaltered and is aimed mainly at Municipalities, Bodies, Associations and entrepreneurs, intent on enhancing their territory.
The workshop will have a virtual seat in the Museo dei Bottai di Albaretto, in Macra. The Compagnia del Buon Cammino has adopted it, making itself available to the Municipality for the restoration and cleaning operations. A virtual venue because the initiatives will not only start from the museum but will affect the various valleys not only in the Cuneo area but also outside the region.
Activities will start in late spring. Among the very first scheduled events: «Passi e ripassi» a series of excursions that will address 5 themes linked to the past: in the Stura valley we will talk about the war against France; in the Grana valley of what agriculture was like; in Val Maira of emigration; in the Varaita valley of the arrival of electricity and finally in the Po valley when the mountain begins to conquer the tourists.
The workshop will also try to give substance to initiatives on four main issues that will be explored by experts and by those who live the mountains every day.
Medicine, prevention and health will be talked about with the popular “Health ambulant chairs”; of culture; enhancement of the territories; and finally of equipment, a «showcase» of technical changes, but also of customs and social changes.
They will be able to participate in the initiatives, as private sponsors, companies and public bodies.
