After Milei’s announcement, they clarify that there will be between 10 and 15 thousand state contracts affected

After the impact generated by the announcement by President Javier Milei, about 70 thousand withdrawals from state contracts, the Cabinet clarified that the measure will affect between 10 and 15 workers whose contract expires on March 31.

According to Clarín, the spokespersons clarified that the figure mentioned by Milei actually refers to the number of contracts that will be reviewed in the first stage.

Thus, the casualties would represent 20% of the employees hired through article 09 (which make up a universe of 65 thousand workers) and professional technical assistance (6 thousand contracts).

When asked about the uncertainty of the workers who could be affected, the Cabinet argued that the final and real number will be known with the April settlement, because the State as an employer is not obliged to communicate the resignations through telegrams, as occurs in a regular dismissal.

Controversy. Milei: Public education has done harm by brainwashing people

What Milei had said

President Javier Milei was the main speaker at the Iefa Latam Forum. He was “deeply proud” of the “rennet” elimination of public works. “It is a source of corruption and theft, every good Argentine should oppose it,” he asserted.

“We fired 50 thousand public employees. Not only that, but contracts were cancelled. And notice that more contracts are falling. And 70 thousand contracts are going to fall,” he noted, regarding public employees.

Following Milei’s words, the ATE union announced a national force measure.
