Among the dreams of Vogogna there is a botanical garden in the courtyard of the castle

by admin

By mid-March Vogogna will present its project for the recovery, from a tourist point of view, of important buildings in the historic center to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The guidelines of the project were illustrated in recent days to residents, during a public meeting. On the program there is the recovery of the «Casa del teatro», a building of historical value where the administration headed by Marco Stefanetta wants to create a structure to be used for services connected to the world of culture and tourism. For the management, the Municipality assumes the creation of a community cooperative. “We are working in this direction,” says Stefanetta.

Another macro intervention is the recovery of the external gardens of the Visconti castle. The idea is to create a botanical garden: a preliminary project has already been carried out in the past years in collaboration with the Val Grande National Park. The main lines of the plan on which the Stefanetta junta works found positive feedback among the residents who participated in the public debate. “We wanted to outline which projects we would like to implement, also because private partnerships are envisaged” adds the mayor of Vogogna.

One million and 600 thousand euros are the funds that would be used by the Ossola municipality to make its dreams come true. Other important points of the project are the recovery of the paths on the heights of the town and the digitization of the municipal archive. «Today, the consultation on paper is often difficult. Being able to digitize the material would facilitate the work. As part of this project we want, with the collaboration of the Politecnico di Milano with which we have entered into a partnership, get to draw an interactive mapping of the municipal area. At the end of the work, through a QR code, you could visit the town in an interactive way »concludes Stefanetta.
