Audi City Lab, the future between led and design

by admin

MILANO – “For us it is a source of pride to be present at Milan Design Week, but also a testimony of hope, of a restart that gives hope for a new future destined to revolutionize the entire automotive sector”. These are the words of Fabrizio Longo, General Manager of Audi Italia, on the occasion of the inauguration of Audi City Lab, a space intended to welcome stories and characters that embody the idea of progress, according to the Ingolstadt company, thus celebrating new perspectives and ideas about the future. The mobility of tomorrow, connected, digital and sustainable, is integrated into daily life, opening the doors to new and unexpected relationships.

Audi has long been one of the protagonists of the Milan Design Week; this year it is present – until 27 September – in the heart of the Lombard capital, in via della Spiga 26, in the historic Pertusati building, transformed into a place where fashion, business, design, culture and food play in perfect synergy. Distinguished by its attention to sustainability, Spiga 26 proposes itself as a new metropolitan “creativity district”, intended as a place of exchange between innovation, culture, inspiration and influence.

The light motive for the exhibition is the installation “Enlightening the Future”, curated by Marcel Wanders Studio. Light, technology and innovation are the keywords of this project whose inspiration comes from the various expressive and design forms with which Audi develops the theme of lighting and translates it into its cars.

In via della Spiga, the visitor has the opportunity to see, as an Italian preview, the Audi A6 e-tron concept, the high-end electric sedan presented at the recent Shanghai show. It is a zero-emission prototype with Sportback bodywork. The concept car of the House of the Four Rings anticipates the stylistic features of future high-end models; produced on the new PPE electric platform, it combines technical versatility, reference roominess, quattro all-wheel drive with a power of 476 hp. In the same spaces it is also possible to admire the Audi RS e-tron, in the GT version: it is the first electric Granturismo of the House of Ingolstadt in addition to the most powerful Audi ever. Developed by Audi Sport, the four-door coupe is the pinnacle of the sustainable evolution of Audi sportiness.

Two examples of the Audi Q4 e-tron (both in the normal and sportback versions) are, on the other hand, on display in via Montenapoleone, testifying to the link that has united, for years now, the Milanese fashion district with the brand of the four rings.
