The Shen Yun Touring Troupe concluded its successful performances at Portland’s Keller Theater on March 17, 2024. The five shows attracted a large number of local audience members who were amazed by the mesmerizing performances presented by the troupe.
Ballet teachers Lena Kouznetsova and Anguelina Kouznetsova were among the impressed audience members, praising Shen Yun for its masterful dance skills and incredible performance. Lena highlighted the fun and relatable aspects of the performances, particularly enjoying the dance drama “Restaurant” which she found to be beautiful and wonderful.
Anguelina, also a ballet teacher, expressed admiration for the synchronization and beauty of the Shen Yun dancers’ movements, singling out the dance “Yellow Flowers Bloom” as her favorite. Both mother and daughter were fascinated by the costumes, traditional music, and dynamic canopy background of the performances.
CEO Kenny Sallee and his wife Christina Sallee were equally impressed by the highly synchronized movements of the Shen Yun dancers. Kenny marveled at the coordination and the professionalism of the dancers, while Christina found the performances majestic and graceful.
Christina was particularly moved by the dance drama “Sin of the Last Days”, which portrayed the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. She commended Shen Yun for telling stories through dance and integrating digital technology into the performances.
Both couples expressed their gratitude and admiration for the Shen Yun artists, with Lena Kouznetsova recommending the performances to her friends in Canada and Kenny Sallee praising the importance of reviving traditional culture through the arts. Christina encouraged others to immerse themselves fully in the Shen Yun experience, describing it as a journey through Chinese stories and traditions.
