Ingredients:
– 500 g brussels sprouts (replaceable with cauliflower, broccoli or cabbage)
– 70 gr of butter
– 70 grams of flour
– 500 ml milk
– salt, pepper and nutmeg c/n
– 100 g of mozzarella / tybo / fontina cheese
– 50 gr Sardinian / Parmesan cheese
How is it done?
Clean the cabbages by cutting the bottom end and removing any damaged leaves. Then make a cross cut at the base of each one. Place them in a pot with plenty of boiling water with a pinch of salt and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from water and reserve.
In a pot or frying pan, melt the butter. Add the flour and cook until it forms a paste. Add the milk in a stream and stir constantly. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Cook for 1 minute after boiling, until completely thickened.
Rich, rich, rich…
Place a layer of sauce on a greased baking dish, add the cabbage and finish with the remaining sauce. Add the grated cheeses and gratin in a hot oven.
