Four months after the departure of Marco Gobbetti to take on the role of CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry has appointed a new CEO: it is Jonathan Akeroyd, who therefore leaves the leadership of Versace for the British brand.

Akeroyd was appointed CEO of the Medusa brand in 2016, to guide it towards a possible listing. Two years later, however, Versace sold the majority stake to the American Capri Holdings, a group founded in 1981 by Micheal Kors, who owns his brand and Jimmy Choo and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Before joining Versace, he was CEO of Alexander McQueen.
