This year’s Spring Festival is set to feature nine films, eight of which are scheduled for release on the first day of the new year. These films include the highly anticipated first films directed by Jia Ling after “Hello, Li Huanying”, two comedy films “Hot and Spicy”, the sequel to “Flying Life” directed by Han Han, “Flying Life 2”, Zhang Yimou’s “camped for the Spring Festival” for the third consecutive year after “Sniper” and “River Red”, and “Second Life” and many others.

Although there is no particular “blockbuster” this year, there is a diverse range of comedic and dramatic films suited for both refined and popular tastes. As of 16:30 on January 31, “Article 20” ranked first at the box office with approximately 9.1 million yuan, followed closely by “Hot and Furious” and “Flying Life 2”.
