Confcommercio Asti: “That show by Borghese does not represent our restaurateurs”

by admin

“Certain catering does not represent us”. To affirm it is Claudio Strocco, vice president of the Asti Hoteliers and Restaurateurs Association Confcommercio, returning a few days later to the episode of the program Alessandro Borghese, «4 restaurants», dedicated to Monferrato.

Regretful for the controversies that appeared in the newspapers, “which had a negative impact on the entire sector”, Strocco underlined how the program, which should have given space to the Asti excellences, ended up instead offering “a distorted and rude image, that nothing it has to do with our culture and very little with our food and wine tradition ». Convinced that the restaurant in Asti and, more generally, in Monferrato is not the one seen in the Borghese program, the vice president states that “restaurateurs are serious, aware, responsible and polite people, often with entire families behind them who work hard and in silence», Combining tradition and innovation to better satisfy their customers.

So, a show is good if it is proactive, even with peaks of provocation, but it becomes unacceptable when it leads to behaviors that Strocco defines as “reckless and unpleasant”, so much so as to make an entire category look bad.

One category, highlights the representative of restaurateurs, which has already paid dearly for the pandemic and which does not feel represented by the Borghese program. «Asti is experiencing a moment of recovery – says Strocco – tourist flows are growing, the Christmas Market has been proof of this with over 500,000 visitors. There is the awareness that there are situations to be reviewed, but as an association we are there and we want to give our contribution, because we believe that this is the right spirit to face a new season and a well-deserved economic recovery ».
