After the arrival of Bill Barberis, ‘Familie’ receives even more reinforcement. Actor Tuur De Weert (80), known from ‘FC De Kampioenen’ and ‘De colleagues’, makes his debut as beggar Willy.
In café Jan & Alleman, a new character walks into the set of Family on Friday evening: Willy, a beggar, gives a spontaneous serenade to earn some money and is reprimanded by Jan (Jef De Smedt). Willy has to leave, but that is beyond Vanessa (Karen Damen). This is how actor Tuur De Weert secured his place in the VTM soap.

With De Weert, Family gains a lot of experience. He acted in, among others, The Colleagues, The Square and Recht op Recht. He is best known to the younger generations as Maurice, Pascale’s partner, in FC De Kampioenen. In Family he meets Jaak Van Assche again, whom he knows from FC De Kampioenen and De colleagues. Their Family characters are not strangers either: Alfons (Van Assche) recognizes Willy as his old army friend and invites him to the Coppens home. But for Benny (Roel Vanderstuk), Willy’s presence mainly raises questions.
