The highly anticipated third season of the popular reality show “Half Lovers” is set to premiere today, February 27th, on Tencent Video. This season promises to bring a new mode of love observation to viewers as a group of semi-mature men and women embark on a 21-day love and social experiment on a tropical island in Sanya.
The “Half-Mature Lovers” observation group includes familiar faces such as Du Sujuan, Jin Jing, Tang Yixin, Xie Nan, and Zhang Chunye, who will be observing 8 first-time “half-familiar” amateur guests. Additionally, there will be four Catfish “half-cooked” amateurs whose love choices remain a mystery.
Unlike previous seasons where love blossomed while working, this season introduces a new full-time love model. According to chief director Wang Peng, the show focuses on the genuine need for love among individuals over 30, allowing them to explore their emotions in unfamiliar surroundings.
Producer Yan Zhihua emphasizes the importance of casting genuine individuals for the show, stating that sincerity is crucial in portraying authentic relationships. The selection criteria for Catfish Guests also highlights the impact they can have on existing relationships.
The pilot episode, “Half-Baked Spoilers,” kicks off with a love quotient test to create intrigue among the male and female guests. Additionally, a new segment called the frozen story adds an element of self-exploration as the participants uncover hidden secrets from their past.
