With this request, Harpyie not only scream the essence of their new album into the ears of the world, but also establish their new style of rebellion and affirmation of life. With “Voodoo” Harpyie usher in a new era in their band’s history. In a combination of strong NuMetal metal sounds, pop elements and modern sound elements, the East Westphalians give “Voodoo” a powerful, cool and danceable charm.
Harpy has also freed itself from the shackles of the traditional medieval concept in order to address topics that are personally close to their hearts – be it autobiographical intimacy, socially critical accusation or cheeky self-expression. And that without betraying your own style.
For this purpose, Harpyie have brought active, well-known support on board, which clearly reflects the band’s new course: Harpyie perform the title song together with the genre-breaking Welshmen from Skindred. They make the oath in “Heart of Iron” together with the friends from Soulbound. And Harpyie celebrate the fateful party song “Omen” together with Kalle Koschinsky.
True to the motto: Do what you want! Boundaries are just chalk lines in your thought construct – this creates a consistent and authentic diversity that captures emotions with energy and passion.

But why “Voodoo”? The album was created to reflect current social ills. Just as the ritual practices of Voodoo bring together various elements, Harpy’s songs address the challenges that our world is experiencing today.
In the songs on this album, affirmation of life and artistic outcry come together, in the style of voodoo, where roses and skulls exist side by side. The lyrical cries against injustice and discrimination find their place next to the life-affirming rhythms, as a sign of strength and resistance.

As an artistic reflection on the transfiguration that prevents us from recognizing the pressing problems of our time, Harpy takes up the various aspects that our world is experiencing today, ultimately experiencing catharsis through ritual.
