A large transparent case a stone’s throw from the Duomo: it is the Glass House inaugurated on the first day of Milan fashion week by Marcello Minenna, general director of the Excise, Customs and Monopoly Agency (Adm). This is an itinerant version of the Anti-Counterfeiting House set up in the Agency’s headquarters in Rome. Until Monday 27th, those who pass by the ā€œglass houseā€ will see inside it many counterfeit made in Italy products: shoes, bags and other accessories of high-end brands.

The surprise is the Ferrari in the center of the case, also counterfeit, although it is not so easy, from the outside, to understand it. In addition to the Glass House in via Mercanti, Minenna has inaugurated an exhibition corner dedicated to the Agency’s activities at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. “The collaboration between Adm and the museum, a place of culture, science and expertise – explained the general manager alongside Fiorenzo Galli, director of the museum – contributes to the growth of knowledge and culture” of truth “and to protecting originality and the value of Italian manufacturing, excellence all over the world Ā».

In the corner there are no fashion and luxury products, instead “the most significant counterfeiting objects which have been prevented from being placed on the market thanks to Adm, to protect companies that invest in innovative projects for design, originality and efficiency industrial, ā€added Minenna. In 2020, 12,972,474 pieces were seized for counterfeiting, in 4,922 operations at customs areas, intercepting a quantity of counterfeit goods 262.41% higher than in 2019.
