The Ministry of Human Capital, through the Ministry of Education, presented the “Educational Vouchers” Assistance Program, an innovative initiative that seeks to provide support to middle class families who send their children to private schools.

The program will be aimed at families with incomes less than 7 times the Minimum Living and Mobile Wage (SMVM) who have children in schools at the initial, primary and secondary levels with a subsidy of 75% or more and a fee that does not exceed $ 54,396.

It is estimated that the program could benefit almost 2 million boys and girls who attend more than 6 thousand schools throughout the country. This would not only imply a positive impact on the quality of education, but also on the economy, since new jobs would be generated in the education sector and pressure on public spending on education would be reduced.

What is the benefit?

Beneficiary families will receive 50% of the value of the single-day rate, excluding extra-programmatic activities, calculated based on the base fee for March 2024. The benefit will be granted during the months of May, June and July, with a cap of $27,198 per son.

Who can access the vouchers?

The beneficiaries of the Government vouchers will be “the parents or guardians of students up to and including 18 years of age” who attend privately managed public schools “with at least 75% state contribution.”

It should be noted that family income cannot exceed “the equivalent of seven minimum vital and mobile salaries”, that is, according to the latest update that takes the SMVyM to $202,800, about $1,419,600.

How to access the voucher?

Families interested in accessing the program can complete an online form available at argentina.gob.ar from April 3 to 30. In the form they must enter the CBU where the money will be credited and inform the educational establishment their children attend.

How much is the subsidy for private schools?

“The benefit will consist of a specific, non-contributory, monthly sum of money for each child who attends an educational institution,” the Resolution states. In the statement published this Wednesday on the Human Capital networks, it is indicated that the fee may not exceed $54,396.

Likewise, as reported by the Government, families will have access to 50% of the value of the single-day quota, based on the base quota (March 2024) for May, June and July. In this way, extra-programmatic activities are exempt and they clarified that “the voucher will have a limit of $27,198 per child.”
