The music season is planned from September 2021 to July 2022, with a total of 26 concerts. In addition to the collaborations with heavyweight artists such as Zhao Jiping, Tan Dun, Zhang Guoyong, Tan Lihua, Joseph Vicente, Li Biao, Timir Martinov, Chen Xi and other heavyweight artists of this season, Sichuan Jiaotong, the young pianist Wan Jieni, Sichuan Youth Pianist Xie Ming and composer Wen Ziyang will be the new artists in residence of Sichuan Jiaotong University. The music season invites more than 40 outstanding musicians who are active in different fields and styles of the world classical music stage to cooperate and present.

This music season will explore the two themes of “youth” and “hope for the future”. The first season concert will kick off on September 11 at the City Concert Hall, presenting Gustav Mahler’s “Fourth Symphony” for everyone. It is worth mentioning that this season will perform Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony-Ode to Joy” together with the newly established Sichuan Symphony Orchestra in December, and enjoy the joyful sound of hope and kindness. In this music season, the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra will also perform classic music works such as Elgar’s “Riddle Variations” and Berlioz’s “Romeo and Juliet” for the first time.

This music season will also start a tour in Suzhou, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and other cities, bringing music art to various cities.
