Back to the music Red Devil, for 21 years a cultural and aggregation center: a former church that has become a point of reference for devotees of music and the most diverse artistic expressions.
Today, after almost two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Devil reopens the doors to concerts, those collective rites where culture and encounter bring together different generations and heterogeneous spectators. As usual, the musical programming alternates local realities, emerging artists and historical names of the Italian scene. In the coming months the Red Devil will host sacred monsters of the caliber of Gian Maria Accusani (mind, pen and leader first of Prozac +, then of Sick Tamburo) and the legendary Dandy Bestia who will pay homage to the Skiantos, his own and the late Freak Antony. There will be room for young phenomena that are establishing themselves in Italy such as Lo Straniero and the very fresh Baobabs, and for interesting local realities such as Maelström and Petrolio. The historical formats of the Devil have also been confirmed: the three days of Bagna Cauda Day, the party of the recycled gift in Santo Stefano and the New Year’s Eve. The novelty of this season is in the timetables: all the concerts will start strictly at 9pm.
Nel Maelstrom
It starts tonight, Sunday 7 November, with Maelström: the stage name of the Asti area Alessandro Pugliese, songwriter with mixed origins and influences. Sailors, storms and legends are the heart of his project: Alessandro Pugliese was born in a small town in Calabria and raised in Piedmont. He recently embarked on the recording adventure with the Ligurian label Revubs Dischi, which brought him back to confront all that sea experienced as a child and then abandoned. After the years with La Canaglia and Il Gentiluomo, the solo project began with the single «Pecore Nere», accompanied by a video that is collecting numerous hits: «It is written, directed and photographed by Gianvincenzo Pugliese, my brother – says Maelström – It has been selected in international festivals, with nominations across Europe. A first and beautiful goal ». The piece is entirely signed by Maelström, text and music, with production by Vanes; mix and master by Lucas Onesti. Alessandro Rocchi (color), Danilo Currò (graphic design) collaborated on the video (almost 15 thousand views on Youtube). Starring Letizia Veiluva, Mael and Cumbà Vicinzu.
Meanwhile Maelström continues to write and present new songs: «The next single will be“ Coralli ”- he continues – another song that will lead to a first album. It will be called “Under the midnight sun” ». A solo project that already has several songs in the drawer: «Tonight on the Diavolo stage, it will be the first real date – he continues – I will present nine unreleased songs and five covers. I have chosen to reinterpret songs by artists at the top of my personal playlist such as Brunori Sas, Fulminacci and Willie Peyote ».
