On February 27, director Dai Wei, producer Shu Fujii, actors Wang Yang, Zheng Yunlong, Kan Yu and other main creators of the movie “The Willow Waves Smell the Orioles” appeared at the post-screening meeting of the National Roadshow Hangzhou Station. It is reported that the film “Smell the Orioles in the Willow Waves” was officially released on March 5th and will be released nationwide. On February 28, the movie theme song MV “See You Again” sung by Zheng Yunlong and Mao Weitao has also been launched to meet you.

The film focuses on Yue Opera culture, and the scene also shows a lot of Shengzhou’s landscape, ancient stage and nearly 20 minutes of Yue Opera arias. The original author of the film, Wang Xufeng, appeared at the Hangzhou road show to support the film, and revealed to the fans on the spot that the drooping corner in the film was designed according to the prototype of Yue Opera actor Mao Weitao, “Some time ago, many friends called me to give feedback on how they felt after watching the film. Very good too.”

As a Yue Opera actor, Mao Weitao has a deep feeling, she said frankly, “I couldn’t help crying many times during the filming process, maybe because I am the person in the play, this story reminds me many years ago. This work is from a novel. The presentation of the director and the main actors and actresses is very good, every shot is as beautiful as the MV, and the film strives to pursue the realm of art and aesthetics, which makes me particularly enjoy watching it in the cinema.”

It is reported that the film “Smell the Orioles in the Willow” entered the script creation stage in 2018, which lasted for 3 years and was shot in Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Ningbo and other places. Among them, the last scene of the film was shot in the real scene of Liu Lang Wenying. The film is adapted from the series of novels “Love West Lake” by Wang Xufeng, winner of the Mao Dun Literature Award. The story is based on the “Liu Lang Wenying”, one of the ten scenes of the West Lake, and mainly tells the emotional entanglement between two girls in the Jiangnan Yue Opera Troupe and a fan painter.
