Netflix-Marvel Co-Series Daredevil and More Will Be Delisted at the End of the Month- Disney – Marvel Studios

Before the Disney Plus service, Netflix was responsible for launching some Marvel-owned TV series, but soon, users will no longer be able to watch Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones on Netflix. , Tekken, The Punisher, or The Defender.

Earlier today, Netflix’s official “What’s on Netflix” message surfaced about the impending removal, as viewers noticed the show’s logo in the Netflix app. Anonymous Netflix and Disney spokespersons have confirmed to The Verge that Netflix’s copyright license will end on February 28.

Polygon noted that the shift came after several characters from Wan Fei’s show appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox brought his Daredevil character to Spider-Man: Homeless, while Vincent D’Onofrio played Kim Ping in Disney Plus’ Hawkeye.

This ends a partnership that began in 2012 and first hit our TV screens in 2015 when Daredevil premiered on Netflix. By 2018, all shows were canceled for renewal. As now Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos pointed out in a 2017 interview with Reuters: “That’s why we started the original business five years ago.”

Neither side has revealed what might happen to these shows after they leave Netflix, although my guess is they will return in some form.
