Exactly one week passed for Nicandro Díaz’s girlfriend to break the silence and tell her version of what happened the day of the accident that took the life of the beloved soap opera producer, at the age of 60.
After not attending the producer’s funeral ceremonies, actress Mariana Robles reappeared publicly with a neck brace, dark glasses and still visibly affected by what happened. She decided to give him an interview for Maxine Woodside’s program and there tell what she remembers what happened in Cozumel aboard a motorcycle in which she and “Nic” were riding.
“We went to eat and when we came back, we were on one of these tiny motorcycles, I don’t even remember the color, it was rented, we did wear helmets. The memory I have is that I was lying on her back so she wouldn’t blow me away,” she said in Todo para la mujer.
Mariana, who had been in a love relationship with the producer of hits like “Soy tu dueña” and “Destilando amor” for three years, said she did not remember everything that happened. “The next image I have is seeing myself standing on the side of the road and seeing him. He was lying, right on a precipice, lying down and I remember that I was screaming, there were people around us and I was saying ‘an ambulance, please help us’ and I was shouting ‘my love’.”
The actress points out that she cannot remember how the accident occurred, because she lost track. “If you tell me, they were run over, an animal ran into them, there was oil, they fell asleep, I could believe any theory. I wasn’t seeing, I didn’t have visibility, I don’t know what happened. I don’t know the causes of death, I know that he had several very strong blows, but exactly, I don’t know,” she said.
Mariana confronted the rumor that Nicandro’s children asked to investigate the accident and clarified that she has not received any notification. Hours after she offered this interview, the producer’s only daughter used her social networks to openly express that she does not believe Mariana’s word and make it clear that there are differences between the families.
“Don’t believe anything about Mariana Robles,” wrote the young Valeria Díaz, in an Instagram story with a black background.
