Patagonia inaugurates a free co-lab space in Rome for climate activists

by admin

The first was inaugurated in the Montebelluna store in 2017. Four years later, Patagonia’s co / lab space (Community Lab) also opens in Rome, adjacent to the shop in via Salaria 185. It is a free space made available of local non-profit organizations and associations committed to protecting the environment and the territory and promoting a sustainable lifestyle.

The co / lab runs part of the Patagonia Action Works program, with which the Californian brand expresses its commitment to sustainability, through funds donated to thousands of groups around the world, a figure that today has reached 110 million dollars. The space is spread over two floors, for a total of 50 square meters: in the lower part there is a meeting room dedicated to meetings, video calls and presentations, while in the upper part there are three work tables for a total of 12 workstations.

In the same room there is a corner with soundproofed armchairs for making calls or conversations in two people and, finally, a small break area. The Rome co / lab aims to create a collaborative network between committees, bodies and associations that have at heart the issues close to the brand, first of all environmental and territorial protection. The store itself is powered by renewable energy and in the last year alone has been a repair hub – another front Patagonia is very busy on – for nearly 400 garments.

Associations, startups and groups interested in taking advantage of the co / lab, which is available for a maximum of eight hours and can also be booked only partially, can book the space by filling out the form on the website www.colabroma.it.
