Phenomenon Tiny house, the caravan that becomes home

by admin

ROME – The “tiny house” phenomenon was born about twenty years ago in the United States and today it is rapidly expanding in Europe as well. In practice it is a solution that allows you to have a decidedly comfortable “caravan-home” with a level of finishes and materials that has no equal. Among the producers who have specialized in the creation of tiny houses, the French Baluchon stands out, based in Les Petits Primeaux, in Le Pallet, a company capable of transforming the wishes of buyers into reality with practically tailor-made projects.

The latest creation of the transalpine factory is called Planedennig (“little planet” in Breton), it is spread over a useful length of six meters and rests on a double axle trailer. The main material for this small house on wheels, beyond the load-bearing frame with the coupling to the car, is wood, available in different finishes and able to ensure good thermal and acoustic insulation (thanks also to the cotton inserts , flax and hemp) both in summer and in winter, as well as a long service life. 97% of the materials used in the manufacturing are of biological origin, eco-sustainable and recyclable, coming from local suppliers and the whole manufacturing process takes place in an artisanal way.

The tiny house Planedennig, built for a user from central Brittany, stands out for its colorful carpentry, the cladding with sloping red cedar slats and the chimney of the stove clearly visible from the outside. Access is through the kitchen, equipped with a fully equipped block (two burners, oven, refrigerator and sink), with an oak worktop, and there is also a wood stove (an electric heater can be activated if the stove does not is running or it is particularly cold to which the water heater for hot water is added).

The oak table accommodates four people for meals who after eating can relax in the adjoining living room with a convertible sofa (two people can sleep in it) and pine parquet. The bathroom is well equipped with chemical toilet, sink, large wardrobe and half bath with shower, while a shelf-ladder (with three steps with a “floating” effect) allows access to the upper floor where the “bedroom” with the double bed and, connected through an original network, the bedroom with a single bed (the family consists of two adults and a child). On average, the price of tiny houses starts at around 25,000 euros for solutions in kits (50,000 euros for a semi-built one), while for a complete “turnkey” house they spend between 80,000 and 95,000 euros.
