The dark metal supergroup SOEN release another video from their album “Memorial” via Silver Lining Music, “Incendiary”.
Following the start of the European tour, Soen have released the powerful video for “Incendiary”, a driving and angry anthem with a message of hope to rise up against the horrors of war and the tyrannical leaders behind it.
The current single also features stunning artwork created by Victor Portugal, a world-renowned tattoo artist and lifelong friend of Soen drummer and co-founder Martin Lopez. The artwork is available as a limited edition poster with a certificate of authenticity and is available exclusively at the Soen store.
Lopez comments: “Incendiary is a song about the true power of unification… even when a few are in charge, ‘we’ the people have the power to radically change things.” “It’s a heavy and melodic song that captures both the raw has a classic metal vibe as well as some proggy passages,” adds singer and founding member Joel Ekelöf. “I would say it contains a lot of emotion and anger, but also beauty and serenity.”
The track is taken from the highly acclaimed current album Memorial, which is arguably their best work to date and sees the band overall showcasing a harder approach to their craft without losing the melodic grace the band is known for.
“Incendiary” follows the release of single “Hollowed,” which sees singer and founding member Joel Ekelöf joined by acclaimed singer Elisa. It is a very impressive ballad that creates a powerful bridge between the ten tracks on the album. Memorial also features the biting track ‘Violence’, the war-inspired title track ‘Memorial’ and the hard hitting ‘Unbreakable’.
Those who never take a restrained path confront the evils and ways of contemporary society with a sharp, wounded venom that betrays their pain, anger and frustrations. Every guitar has a greater edge, every melody a richer heart, every lyric a final proclamation of soul and spleen. At the same time, Soen’s unique blend of progression, aggression and beauty shows more maturity than ever before.
Soen is completed by Lars Enok Åhlund (keyboards and guitar), Oleksii “Zlatoyar” Kobel (bass) and Cody Ford (lead guitar). Following their hugely successful Memorial European tour last fall and a string of incredible performances at last summer’s festivals, the band will soon be taking Memorial to the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tour will begin in Chicago, Illinois in May 2024.
