ROME – Birò launches the Birò O2 in a limited edition: it is the first electric vehicle made with 80% recycled plastic, the highest percentage of any other vehicle on the market. To the already known peculiarities of the vehicle – two rear motorbike wheels, 45 km / h speed (you drive from 14 years onwards with a license) – today are added structural components made evident by the green color and by the uneven pouring of the plastic itself: the texture, in fact, creates unique shades, still characteristics ready to give an unprecedented identity to the car, available to individuals and companies.
The objective, from the point of view of the House, is to give a new life to the plastic already used: a way to pollute less, reusing it for the mobility project that has been in place since 2008 and otherwise would see the investment of other resources. A way, moreover, to capture the attention of the “green addicted” who choose Birò not only to cross the restricted traffic area without worries. “Less plastic on the planet and more clean air in our cities,” says the company according to a press release.
Presented for the first time at the Salone del Mobile 2019, in collaboration with Mandalaki Studio and Rossana Orlandi, Birò continued the development of the model, arriving among the finalists of the international competition PRAE (Plastic Recycling Award Europe). Not only. Birò O2 today has fully entered among the products recommended by Legambiente, so much so that a percentage of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to support the association’s Change Climate Change campaign.
“The means of electric mobility represent the future of daily travel, with a view to improving lifestyles and reducing our impact on the environment – declares the general manager of Legambiente, Giorgio Zampetti -. This project is twice as good for the climate, as it also supports the Legambiente Change Climate Change campaign which, through information initiatives, mobilizations, training moments with schools and the youngest, small and large concrete actions that involve the whole citizenry , aims to reverse the effects of climate change “.
Biro O2 will be made in 100 pieces in the Big version with Limited Edition Pack and fixed battery for a range of 100 km. Furthermore, through the new Birò share app, the vehicle can be shared with two other drivers without passing the key: the vehicle can be opened, closed and started directly from the smartphone.
Birò O2 is available for pre-order with prices from 13,990 euros. Finally, concurrently with the launch, the brand opens a store in Rome: in via Pinciana 55. The second in Italy, after the point on Milan in via corso Garibaldi 64.
