China Central Radio and Television’s “2024 Spring Festival Gala” is set to bring the joy and warmth of the Chinese New Year closer to home with the debut of its four branch venues in Shenyang, Changsha, Xi’an, and Kashgar, alongside the main venue in Beijing.
The second rehearsal of the gala took place on January 21, marking the first appearance of the branch venues, which are designed to showcase the unique cultural heritage and traditions of different regions of China.
At the Shenyang branch, located in the China Industrial Museum, Northeastern folk art will collide with contemporary fashion to create a fiery atmosphere in the ice and snow. Meanwhile, the Changsha branch, situated at the intersection of the Xiangjiang River and Liuyang River, will pay tribute to the vigor and pioneering spirit of the “City that Never Sleeps” through a youthful performance.
The Shaanxi branch is set to integrate Shaanxi rap, creative sleeves, and drum symphony to recreate the poetic city of the Tang Dynasty, while the Kashgar branch, located in the ancient city of Kashgar, will bring together people of all ethnic groups in a display of instrumental music and scene interpretations.
In addition to showcasing regional customs, the gala is also inviting ordinary people to be part of the celebration. “Piano-playing construction worker” Yi Qunlin, peasant poet “Aunt Field Mouse” Pei Aimin, “agricultural classmate” Ding Xigong, and photography blogger “Liangtian” Shi Jiadong are among those who have been invited to share their inspiring stories and talents.
The purpose of this approach is to connect with the audience and show the touching stories of Chinese people who are full of enthusiasm and forge ahead. The gala aims to provide a cultural New Year’s Eve dinner that conveys hope and celebrates the spirit of the Chinese people.
With the combination of the main venue and the four branch venues, the “2024 Spring Festival Gala” promises to offer a wonderful and heartfelt celebration for Chinese people around the world. Get ready to ring in the Year of the Tiger with an unforgettable and heartfelt celebration.
