Fashion and dance, dress and movement in dialogue during the days in which Milan reopened to events with the presence of the public for the men’s fashion shows. The scenography was lent by seven Milanese places symbol of culture and sharing – closed due to the pandemic and now protagonists of the shooting – to create a video performance with eleven collections of theses of theEuropean Institute of Design, made by the best graduates in Fashion Design in the year 2020/21.

From the Arena to the Mysterious Baths

The performers of Accademia Kataklò (directed by Giulia Staccioli and Vito Cassano) gave expression to the outfits, giving shape to narrative paintings hosted by places such as the Gianni Brera Civic Arena, the Mysterious Baths and the Franco Parenti Theater, the Circolo Arci Bellezza, the DanceHaus Susanna Beltrami school, the Cozzi Pool – Milanosport, the Chiesa Rossa Library – Milan Library System. The soundtrack was composed by the sound designers Cosma Castellucci, Mattia Liciotti and Riccardo Santalucia (Alumni Ied Milano).

Dance and the three-dimensional dimension

«When a dress comes into contact with a dancer’s body, it comes to life and becomes an extension of his muscles and his communicative message. Become the partner to dance with, the companion to be valued – comments Giulia Staccioli, artistic director of Accademia Kataklò (first training and professional start-up school dedicated to physical theatre) and founder of the company Kataklò Athletic Dance Theater. Overcoming the concept of ethereal beauty, dance offers fashion a material and communicative three-dimensionality, always effective because it is never equal to itself ».
